Well, what’s fall without pumpkin dishes? On our table pumpkin comes often, in any form: stuffed, in soup, in a salad, in pies, baked by itself. You can bake pumpkin sweet with a little sugar – it’s good for dessert. Or, as in this recipe, baked spiced pumpkin, which will go both as a separate dish and as a side dish.
A variety of pumpkin dishes are especially helpful during Lent. After all, they are easy to prepare, not expensive, hearty, tasty, beautiful and… I almost forgot to mention its benefits! Pumpkin has more carotene than carrots, and it has a lot of vitamin B, and there is even some rare vitamin T, which is necessary for the proper work of metabolic processes in the body. Step by step description of the recipe
Peel and de-seed the pumpkin and cut into 1.5 to 2 cm thick slices.
- In a separate bowl, combine olive oil, salt, pepper mixture and Provençal herbs. Stir to combine.
- Pour oil and herbs into bowl to pumpkin and stir.
Tip .
You can add a little lemon juice and garlic if desired.
- Line a tray with foil, shiny side up, and place the pumpkin on it.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
You may need less, depends on the size of the pumpkin pieces and your oven. - Baked spiced pumpkin is ready. It can be served as a standalone dish or as a side dish.
